Welcome to Scouting America Troop 190B

Welcome to the Troop 190B website. We are located in Chardon, Ohio, the maple syrup capital of Ohio.

Our Troop Charter was established more than 64 years ago on February 1, 1961.

Troop meetings are held on every Thursday evening from 7:30 PM until 9:00 PM at St Mary's Church.

Committee meetings are during the 3rd Thursday troop meeting each month.

Please bring in your full pack for this weekend Klondike Derby campout at BSR. Make sure to fully pack your backpack so it can be reviewed at the Troop meeting this Thursday.

Stations:

Two Man Saw – You will need to be able to saw some firewood to survive.

Fire building – Its cold out thar. Alaska can get mighty cold so you will need to build able to build a fire to stay warm in the freezing weather. A quick fire that can warm yourself using only the items listed in the Sled/Patrol gear list.

The Troop annual service project supporting the St Mary Church annual Fish Fry during the Lenten season will occur on Friday, 2/27/2026 beginning at 4 PM. Please wear your RED TROOP POLO SHIRT to this event. Afterwards, the Troop annual Nintendo Night camp-in will begin. Pick up time for this overnight event is on Saturday 2/28/2026 at 06:30 AM. You must participate in the Fish Fry in order to be allowed to attend the Nintendo Night.

BRING YOUR SCOUT HANDBOOKS TO THE SCOUT MEETING EACH WEEK.

BSA Youth Protection Training Replacement Program

The Safeguarding Youth Training (SYT) program has replaced the previous Youth Protection Training (YPT) as the mandatory training for all registered adult volunteers

in the Boy Scouts of America. This new training is designed to be more engaging, accessible, and aligned with current best practices in youth protection.

Mandatory Requirement: All adult volunteers must complete the SYT within the next 12 months and by May 31, 2026.
Annual Refresher: After completing the full course once, a 15-minute refresher and retest are required each year to stay current.
Recognition of Prior Training: If you completed YPT before May 22, 2025, it will be honored until May 31, 2026.
New Training Modules: SYT introduces updated modules, clearer policies, and a more robust learning experience to ensure every adult in the movement is equipped to protect and empower youth.
The new training emphasizes proactive measures to prevent abuse and create a culture of safety within Scouting. It is available now on my.Scouting.org, and all training is accessible through the platform.

It's good for all adults to take the Safeguarding Youth Training on-line class at: http://www.scouting.org/Training/ which should be done every year. Selecting YPT will automatically direct you to the SYT training.
